Master Hunter
Hunter uses traps, tracking and patience rather than combat. Match the trap to the creature, retrieve failed traps and increase your active trap count as the skill allows.
World 1: 50× normal XP. World 2: 100× normal XP. Reference values below show base XP and the normal world-scaled amount, before any activity-specific modifiers.

Your training route
From first steps to masteryThese level bands are recommendations, not extra unlock requirements. Where an option unlocks partway through a band, keep using the earlier method until you reach it.
- Levels1–19
Bird snares and early birds
Begin with crimson swifts in the Feldip Hunter area. Move to eligible birds such as tropical wagtails as your level rises; reset unsuccessful snares and collect your rewards.
- Levels19–29
Tropical wagtails or deadfalls at 23
Tropical wagtails give 95.2 base XP. Deadfall creatures provide an alternative if you have logs, a knife and the correct habitat.
- Levels29–47
Swamp lizards
Use rope and small fishing nets on young trees in the swamp habitat. Retrieve your equipment after each catch or failed trap.
- Levels47–59
Orange salamanders or chinchompas at 53
Orange salamanders give 224 base XP. Chinchompas use box traps and produce useful ammunition; choose based on location and supplies.
- Levels59–67
Red salamanders and red chinchompas
Red salamanders unlock at 59 and red chinchompas at 63. Bring enough traps and avoid leaving failed traps unattended.
- Levels67–99
Red chinchompas or black salamanders
Black salamanders unlock at 67 but their Wilderness location adds risk. Red chinchompas remain a practical route when you prefer a non-Wilderness habitat.
Field notes
- Grenwalls currently award zero XP in this server’s trap definition. Do not use modern guides recommending them for experience.
- More traps require the appropriate Hunter level; carry spares without assuming you can place them all.
- Use real trap habitats rather than expecting every creature to be catchable anywhere.
