Before you begin

• Druidic Ritual completion
• Clean herbs, vials of water and matching secondary ingredients
• Bank ingredients in matching batches to avoid unfinished stock

These level bands are recommendations, not extra unlock requirements. Where an option unlocks partway through a band, keep using the earlier method until you reach it.

1. Levels3–12

   Attack and antipoison potions

   Mix guam with eye of newt for attack potions. Marrentill and unicorn horn dust make antipoison at 5. Clean eligible grimy herbs as you obtain them.

2. Levels12–38

   Strength, restore and energy potions

   Strength uses tarromin and limpwurt root at 12. Restore unlocks at 22 and energy at 26; choose by your herb and secondary supply.

3. Levels38–55

   Prayer potions and super attack

   Prayer potions use ranarr and snape grass at 38. Super attack unlocks at 45 with irit and eye of newt; super energy at 52 uses avantoe and Mort myre fungus.

4. Levels55–69

   Super strength, restores and defence

   Super strength unlocks at 55, super restore at 63 and super defence at 66. These make useful bossing supplies while training.

5. Levels69–81

   Antifire and ranging potions

   Antifire at 69 uses lantadyme and dragon scale dust; ranging at 72 uses dwarf weed and wine of Zamorak. Train with the potion you can supply reliably.

6. Levels81–99

   Saradomin brews and other useful high-level potions

   Brews use toadflax and crushed bird nests at 81. Continue lower-tier useful potions when their ingredients offer better value.

Field notes

• Making an unfinished potion is not the same as finishing it; the table lists the finished-potion XP.
• Save useful potions for Slayer and bosses instead of choosing every recipe only by XP.
• This is the 2009-era potion system: do not budget for modern overload recipes that are not part of these definitions.

26	Energy potion	67.5	Harralander unfinished potion + Chocolate dust. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
30	Defence potion	45	Ranarr unfinished potion + White berries. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
31	Super fishing explosive	55	Guam unfinished potion + Rubium. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
34	Agility potion	80	Toadflax unfinished potion + Toads legs. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
36	Combat potion	84	Harralander unfinished potion + Goat horn dust. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
38	Prayer potion	87.5	Ranarr unfinished potion + Snape grass. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
40	Summoning potion	92	Spirit weed unfinished potion + Cockatrice egg. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
45	Super attack	100	Irit unfinished potion + Eye of newt. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
48	Super antipoison	106.3	Irit unfinished potion + Unicorn horn dust. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
50	Fishing potion	112.5	Avantoe unfinished potion + Snape grass. Any recipe quest conditions still apply.
