Crafting Guide

Your route from first steps to mastery.

Gathering & production · Both worlds

Master Crafting

Crafting supports jewellery, ranged armour and glass products. Choose a route based on the materials you can acquire consistently rather than buying rare gems for every level.

World 1: 50× normal XP. World 2: 100× normal XP. Reference values below show base XP and the normal world-scaled amount, before any activity-specific modifiers.

Before you begin

  • Needle, thread and tanned leather for armour
  • Chisel and uncut gems for cutting
  • Jewellery moulds, bars and a furnace for jewellery

Your training route

From first steps to mastery

These level bands are recommendations, not extra unlock requirements. Where an option unlocks partway through a band, keep using the earlier method until you reach it.

  1. Levels1–20

Leather items and low-level gem cutting

Collect cowhides, have them tanned, then use needle and thread on the leather. Opals start at 1; jade at 13 and red topaz at 16 are alternatives, but low-level gem cutting can fail.

  2. Levels20–40

    Sapphires, emeralds and useful jewellery

Cut sapphires at 20, emeralds at 27 and rubies at 34. Turn appropriate cut gems and bars into jewellery when you have its separate crafting requirement.

  3. Levels40–57

Diamonds and practical leather or glass work

Diamonds unlock at 43 and dragonstones at 55. Stay with accessible leather or glass recipes if gem supply is expensive.

  4. Levels57–70

    Green dragonhide progression

Green vambraces start at 57, chaps at 60 and bodies at 63. Use tanned dragon leather, needle and thread; bank output for use or sale.

  5. Levels70–84

    Blue and red dragonhide

Choose the highest practical piece for your level and supply. More hides per item also means a larger material cost per action.

  6. Levels84–99

    Black dragonhide or sustainable alternatives

Black bodies unlock at 84. Lower-tier hides and gems remain useful when you cannot sustain black leather supplies.

Field notes

  • Cutting a gem and making jewellery are different recipes; meeting one requirement does not meet the other.
  • Keep thread stocked; a needle alone is not enough for repeated leather crafting.
  • Ironmen should connect combat hides, mining gems and crafting instead of relying on trade.
