1. Begin the adventure

   Talk to a guard. Lord Sinclair was murdered; the guards let you investigate. The culprit is picked at random for each player, so this guide shows you how to find yours.

2. Continue the adventure

   Upstairs, take the dagger (the murder weapon) and the poisoned pot of wine. Take the coloured thread caught on the window.

3. Search for clues

   Search the barrel in the shed beside the mansion to collect each suspect's silver item: Anna's necklace, Bob's cup, Carol's bottle, David's book, Elizabeth's needle and Frank's pot. Take some flypaper from the sack there too.

4. Fingerprints

   use the flour on the dagger, then the flypaper on it to lift the print. Do the same on each silver item and compare: the matching print is the killer's.

5. Thread

   its colour matches the clothes of the guilty family member.

6. Poison

   the poison salesman in Seers' Village says the family bought poison. Ask each suspect what they used it on, then check that spot: the one whose story does not hold up (dirty crest, blocked drain, live spiders...) is lying.

7. Finish the quest

   Take your evidence to a guard and name the killer.
