Merlin's Crystal

• Bread, a tinderbox, a bucket and an insect repellent.
• Bat bones (kill a bat, the Taverley Dungeon entrance has some).
• Food and armour for Sir Mordred (level 39).

1. Begin the adventure

   Talk to King Arthur. Merlin is trapped inside a giant crystal; free him to join the Knights of the Round Table.

2. Speak to the knights

   Talk to the knights in the castle (Sir Gawain and Sir Lancelot). They point you to Morgan Le Faye, at her fortress Keep Le Faye.

3. Continue the journey

   Go to Arhein's shop in Catherby and hide in the crate by the docks. You are shipped to Keep Le Faye.

4. Continue the adventure

   Fight Sir Mordred on the top floor. When he is almost dead, Morgan Le Faye begs for his life and tells you how to free Merlin.

5. Excalibur

   go to the Lady of the Lake, south of Taverley. She sends you to a beggar in Port Sarim; give him bread and he hands you Excalibur.

6. Black candle

   the candle maker in Catherby makes one from a bucket of wax. Use the insect repellent on the beehives south of Camelot, then use your bucket on a hive to get the wax.

7. Continue the adventure

   Read the incantation on the Chaos altar (the words are "Snarthon Candtrick Termanto").

8. Continue the adventure

   Light the black candle with the tinderbox. Holding it, drop the bat bones on the magic symbol north-east of Camelot and say the incantation. The demon Thrantax appears: tell him to free Merlin.

9. Finish the quest

   Go back to Camelot, wield Excalibur and break the crystal on the top floor. Then talk to King Arthur.
