What to bring

  • A raw or cooked swordfish, bass, tuna, salmon and shrimp (Caleb asks for them cooked).
  • A pickaxe, 2 rubies, a ring mould and a necklace mould.
  • An antipoison, and runes for the four blast spells (air, water, earth and fire blast, 59 Magic).

One step at a time

The walkthrough

Follow the story from start to finish.

  1. Begin the adventure

    Talk to Dimintheis. His family crest was split in three between his sons. Start with Caleb.

  2. Continue the adventure

    Caleb is in his house in Catherby. Bring him a swordfish, a bass, a tuna, a salmon and a shrimp for his salad; he gives you his piece and tells you to ask the gem trader in Al Kharid about his brother.

  3. Find your next lead

    Find Avan by the gold rocks north of Al Kharid. He wants a ruby ring and a ruby necklace made of perfect gold. Boot, a dwarf in the Dwarven Mine, says perfect gold is in the Witchaven dungeon.

  4. Continue the adventure

    In the Witchaven dungeon, the gold is behind the door guarded by hellhounds: it opens when both north levers are up and the south lever is down.

  5. Continue the adventure

    On the way, the south-west door needs north lever A up and the south lever down, the south-east door needs north lever A up and the south lever up, and the north door needs north lever A down.

  6. Continue the adventure

    Mine the perfect gold ore, smelt it into perfect gold bars and craft a ruby ring and a ruby necklace. Give them to Avan for his piece.

  7. Continue the adventure

    Johnathon lies ill at the Jolly Boar Inn, north-east of Varrock: give him an antipoison. He tells you the demon Chronozon in the Edgeville Dungeon took his piece.

  8. Continue the adventure

    Chronozon only dies once he has been hit by all four blast spells: air, water, earth and fire. Kill him and take the last piece.

  9. Finish the quest

    Join the three pieces and give the crest to Dimintheis.
