SERENITY UPDATE: BOSSING, RARE REWARDS, TELEPORTS & A NEW WEBSITE LOOK

There’s plenty to explore in this update, from a new skill and rare boss rewards to easier travel, classic forum portraits and a complete website makeover.

WORLD 1: THE BOSSING SKILL

World 1 now has its own custom Bossing skill. Earn experience by defeating supported bosses and unlock useful benefits as you progress towards level 99.

Bossing has its own crossed-swords icon, skill-tab entry, experience tracking and website highscores. Visit the Bossing master in Lumbridge to learn more.

Experience has been balanced for sustained progression. Bossing XP is fixed rather than multiplied by the world’s normal experience rate. Brutus awards 180 XP, reaching level 3 from a fresh start, while harder encounters award more.

The skill guide now separates unlocks into Boss Perks, Weapon Perks, Special Perks, Weapons, Armour and Equipment.

Combat benefits apply only to collection log main bosses. Ordinary monsters, God Wars bodyguards and player-versus-player combat do not receive these benefits.

BOSS PERKS

Level 5: Deal 5% more damage against Brutus and the Barrows brothers.
Level 9: Gain a 2% chance to dodge Brutus’s charge or stomp.
Level 15: Gain a 5% chance to evade a successful Giant Mole hit.
Level 25: Take 1 less damage from successful Chaos Elemental hits.
Level 30: Gain a 20% chance to resist King Black Dragon poison.
Level 35: Deal 5% more damage against the Dagannoth Kings.
Level 45: Gain a 5% chance to evade a successful Kalphite Queen hit.
Level 55: Gain a 5% chance to block a successful General Graardor hit.
Level 65: Successful attacks against Kree’arra can restore run energy.
Level 75: Successful attacks against Commander Zilyana can restore health.
Level 85: Successful attacks against K’ril Tsutsaroth can restore prayer.
Level 90: Deal 5% more damage against tormented demons.
Level 95: Deal 8% more damage against Corporeal Beast when its health falls below 25%.

The God Wars recovery effects have cooldowns to keep them balanced.

WEAPON & SPECIAL PERKS

Bossing also introduces poison chances, critical strikes, life leech and finishing damage against weakened bosses.

Further unlocks restore small amounts of run energy, health, prayer and special attack energy after collection log boss kills.

Notable milestones include:

Level 20: Unlock a chance to poison bosses that are not poison immune.
Level 50: Unlock critical strikes and special attack recovery after boss kills.
Level 60: Prayer drains 25% slower while fighting collection log bosses.
Level 80: Unlock life leech, with an improvement at level 95.
Level 90: Deal additional finishing damage against bosses below 25% health.
Level 99: Poison from qualifying bosses no longer deals damage, and their normal dragonfire no longer requires a potion or shield.

These protections do not grant immunity to unrelated special attacks. Recovery effects cannot overfill health or prayer.

BOSSING CAPE & HOOD

Reach level 99 Bossing to purchase the trimmed Bossing cape and matching hood from the Lumbridge skill master.

The cape features a light grey base, red trim and tassels, and the crossed-swords Bossing emblem. The cape and hood cost 99,000 coins together.

LEVEL 85 BOSSING: NEW RARE REWARDS

At level 85 Bossing, World 1 players unlock additional rare rolls from collection log main bosses:

Scythe of Vitur
Justiciar faceguard
Justiciar chestguard
Justiciar legguards
Holy ornament kit
Sanguine ornament kit

Each item has its own independent 1-in-2,500 chance. You must have at least 85 Bossing to receive these rolls.

At Barrows, the rolls come from the reward chest rather than individual brothers. Defeating additional brothers does not multiply these bonus rolls.

Existing boss loot remains available alongside these rewards. The new items and their requirements appear in the Bossing guide.

SKILL & CHARACTER FIXES

Bossing and PVP now use the familiar level-up chatboxes, sounds, effects and unlock displays.

The Bossing XP tracker now shows the correct crossed-swords icon instead of the PVP skull.

The custom travel, PK shop and skill-master NPCs now turn to face players during conversations.

The max hood has also been corrected so it no longer removes the player’s beard and lower face.

A NEW TELEPORT GUIDE

Use ::tp to open the new travel interface.

Browse five categories across the top:

Cities
Bosses
Monsters
Minigames
Misc

There are 91 destinations to explore. The left-hand list supports scrolling, while the right-hand panel shows a description, representative model preview, access information and a Teleport button.

The Bosses category contains only collection log bosses. The Monsters category includes popular training creatures, dragons, demons and useful Slayer destinations.

Dungeon and minigame teleports generally take you to their entrances. Normal access requirements still apply, and dangerous Wilderness destinations ask for confirmation.

Travel respects combat checks, teleblock and teleport restrictions.

HOME TELEPORT CHOICES

Home Teleport in all three spellbooks now offers a choice:

Teleport to Lumbridge using the familiar home teleport animation.
Open the new teleport guide.
Cancel.

CLASSIC FORUM PORTRAITS

The Make-over Mage has moved to Lumbridge Castle courtyard.

Alongside the original makeover service, you can now ask him to take your forum picture.

Choose a Neutral pose or Smile, then save a portrait showing your character’s head and currently equipped hat. Your picture appears beside your forum posts, bringing back the classic RuneScape forum look.

Your portrait stays as photographed until you take another picture. World 1 and World 2 accounts keep separate portraits.

WEBSITE MAKEOVER

The website has received a complete RuneScape-inspired visual overhaul using real assets from the game caches and original website resources.

Changes include:

Native stone buttons and interface borders.
Parchment-style quest guides.
Consistent styling across highscores, profiles, collections, archives, forums, shop and play pages.
Thousands of additional creature images rendered from real game models.
Animated portraits for selected bosses.
Repaired blank item icons and missing guide artwork.
Improved mobile layouts and navigation.
A combined players-online counter for both worlds.

All 18 boss encounter entries on player profiles now have proper creature artwork, including previously missing pictures.

DRAGON SCIMITAR CURSOR

The website now has a dragon scimitar cursor.

Use the small scimitar switch at the top of the page to turn it on or off. Your browser remembers your choice.

The cursor has also been flipped to the correct direction, with its click point aligned to the blade tip.

HALLOWEEN ON THE WEBSITE

The team can now activate a shared Halloween theme for everyone visiting the site.

It features original Halloween artwork, glowing jack-o-lanterns, darker seasonal colours and subtle creature animations. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.

When Halloween mode is switched off, the normal Serenity theme returns.
